Description of Responsibilities: The Estimator is responsible for translating customer requirements communicated in drawings and CAD models for precision sheet metal components. Into a production plan and cost model to support manufacturing requested.

The Estimator is responsible for selection and assignment of the correct base materials, process sequencing, and run rates for in-house production. Including by not limited to assigning outside services (i.e plating, heat treatment, silk screen) as required to complete a cost model for new parts, or revision to existing or legacy component design(s) awarded and supported.  

Qualifications

  • Candidate must have a strong working knowledge of Precision Sheet Metal manufacturing.
  • Candidate must have the ability to read engineering part drawings, to collect requirements and assess tolerances required for each part estimated.
  • Experience working with ERP systems preferred. Experience with Profit Key (ERP) is a plus 
  • Functional experience with Solidworks preferred.
  • A minimum of 2yrs experience in a similar roll preferred.
  • Candidate possess strong communication skills. With the ability to gather, assess and communicate design requirements from the Customer, through Production and Quality Departments. Utilizing the ERP system, as well as first person when required.  

Education

  • High School or Equivalate (preferred)

Experience

  • 1 year experience in sheet metal manufacturing (preferred)
  • Experience working in an ISO certified manufacturing environment (preferred)
